License |
Within the music industry, a mechannical licence gives the holder permission to create copies of a recorded song which they did not write and/or do not have copyright over. Synchronization
License
(Sync License) |
Often referred to as a "Synch" license, a Synchronization License allows the user to reproduce a musical composition "in connection with" or "in timed relation with" a visual image, e.g., motion picture, video, advertising commercial. Source: Harry Fox |
Media Duplication |
Data is burned on a CD-Rom (CDr) or DVD-rom (DVDr) with lasers. This is a slower process but smaller volumes can be generated at a competitive price. This is the format used in all computers, equiped with a internal or external cd/dvd/blu-ray writer drive. |
Media Replication |
Data is added to the media disc with a stamper, commonly called a "Glass Master".
Data is stamped on the disc at a very high speed. Replication lines can run close to 45,000 disc per day. |
Silk Screen Label |
Screen labels, commonly called a Silk Screen label. Ink is applied to a mesh and the positive side leaves the ink on the disc in the proper place and with the proper color. |
Process Color |
Process color is still a screen label but all the colors are generated from 4 colors, Cyan, Majenta, Yellow and Black |
Flood Color |
A flood color is a solid color placed first on a disc under other process color or pms colors.
Usually a White flood to hide the silver on a disc and bring out the colors applied.

Blu-Ray |
Blu-Ray is the newest standard of media. Blu-Rays can play crystal clear 1080 HD. This is the newest format for HD delivery. |
